There’s always a selection of events, festivals, and shows to choose from. The Charleston City Paper is a free weekly paper that provides a good summary of what’s going on. You can find it in most restaurants and bars in the area. There’s an online version but we prefer carrying the paper version as a guide, plus you can do the crossword over a beer.
There's a market in Park Circle on Thursday afternoons and a larger one downtown on Saturday mornings (during the warmer months). In addition to local farm stands you can find a good variety of gifts, art, crafts, and several prepared food stands.
